The Vercors, the largest nature reserve in mainland France

Magnificent landscapes, unspoiled and authentic nature to discover from our hotel

The Vercors, a natural limestone citadel between 1,000 and 2,300 m above sea level, covers 186,000 ha and offers visitors superb panoramas amidst natural sites of extraordinary variety. True refuge of a remarkable fauna and flora, you will find in this majestic site, the Hauts Plateaux Nature Reserve without any road, nor village, a wild space of rare beauty dedicated to hiking. A total change of scenery, a true communion with nature.

Located in the heart of the Vercors Regional Natural Park, the town of Autrans-Méaudre en Vercors, made up of 2 charming villages, forms a welcoming valley with its meadows and forests. Summer and winter, it is an ideal setting for athletes. True paradise for lovers of mountain biking, hiking with 500 km of routes and marked trails to discover, including the Grandes Randonnées du Vercors (prestigious route around the Vercors Massif between piedmont and plateaus to be linked from gîte to gîte). If you wish, you can also visit this superb region in an original way by hiking on a donkey or on horseback.

In winter, Autrans-Méaudre becomes the French capital of cross-country skiing with its 200 km of slopes, some of which are at the foot of our hotel, not to mention its 35 km dedicated to alpine skiing located in 2 areas linked by a free shuttle. You will also find tracks reserved for sled dogs, snowkiting, Nordic hiking and snowshoeing, as well as a sledge on rails…

In our pretty villages with slate roofs, we invite you to push the doors of our local craftsmen and producers to discover our regional specialties (beer and Vercors blue cheese, milk jam, Clairette de Die...) .
